  • 1. When will I be discharged after my operation?

You will spend one night in the clinic and will be discharged the following morning between 7 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Please arrange for someone to pick you up and help you get home.

  • 2. Will I receive general anesthesia?

Whether you will receive a general anesthetic can be clarified with your anesthetist and is up to you to decide.

  • 3. By when does the clinic need the blood test?

We need your blood count 10-14 days before the operation (see checklist).

  • 4. What must be shown in the blood count?

We need a small blood count with Hb value as well as the coagulation values INR, PTT and Quick.

  • 5. How old can the blood test be?

The blood count must not be older than 14 days.

  • 6. Pregnancy before or after surgery?

We generally recommend that the surgery be performed before the first pregnancy. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can trigger a flare-up of lipedema.

  • 7. How much does lipedema liposuction cost?

Since September 2019, health insurance companies have been covering the costs of medical liposuction in very severe cases in stage III. However, patients must meet certain requirements for the health insurance company to pay. Every patient is different and the treatment at the LipoZentrum is tailored to them individually.
